About dcball

I can remember yelling for "Mr. Bonds" outside of Three Rivers Stadium (he declined, by the way, to oblige my request for an autograph .. I was 12), and running into Ralph Kiner outside of Shea (he signed my Mets hat). Growing up outside of Pittsburgh turned me into a baseball nut. I cried when we moved closer to Philly and I couldn't watch the Pirates on TV. Little did I know one day I would be in the Vet covering the Redskins/Eagles as an intern for The Washington Post and writing a feature on Phils' pitcher Eric Milton for the Centre Daily Times in State College, Pa. Following graduation from Indiana U., I spent two years as an intern in the Post sports department, the bulk of which was spent covering high school sports in Anne Arundel County, Md. I went on to cover Penn State football and Joe Paterno for two seasons for the Centre Daily Times. Now I help MLB.com with their coverage of the Nats as a freelancer. Welcome to my blog. Let's play ball.

Interests

Running the perimeter of the U.S. Naval Academy, reading, watching Rocky movies and Law and Order, heading out to a local "establishment" to watch the Steelers, and of course, watching DC ball ... oh yeah, and I jumped out of a plane once.
